Then, in the Thirties and Forties of the last century, most of these huge chestnut trees were killed off by disease and were gradually replaced by other varieties of trees, especially by good quality conifers. Today the park is a haven of peace with redwoods, cedars, thujas, black and silver pine trees, red and white fir trees, horse-chestnuts, linden trees and other species. A large white poplar stands out amidst the green foliage. There is a <strong>soccer field<\/strong>, <strong>two<\/strong> <strong>beach volley<\/strong> <strong>pitches and long, wooden tables<\/strong>.
